If you experience a conflict with someone in your group, here are some tools you can explore.
Utilize the self reflection questions (below) to get a clearer sense of what this conflict is bringing up in you.
Make time outside of the usual circle to connect with the person/people. If you want support, you can ask other group members to attend. Schedule it for a separate time from the regular meetings so that you can maintain the sacred space of the circle.
As a first step, I recommend utilizing a similar structure to the main shares of the circle to first give space for each person to share uninterrupted and receive reflections from the other person/people.
When sharing
Be sure to stick to ownership language. How do you feel? What’s it like to be you?
Use this prompt: When you said/did ________ I felt _________
When reflecting
Be sure to stick to the reflective listening prompts, avoid improvising.
Be present and loving to yourself and whatever feelings arise when hearing the other person’s truth.
Repeat this (both getting as many turns at sharing/reflecting as necessary)
If you both feel heard and seen in what your current reality is, share what you need from the other moving forward.
If at any point you are preferring to have outside support, Rachel can be hired for conflict support sessions. Reach out for more info: rachel@letsbeauthentic.comÂ
